Overview
College Office Web Connect consists of the following modules (text in italics indicates features scheduled in a future release):
- Registrar Module: used by registrars/administrators to define sessions, classes and schedule, to assign teachers, to define programs and their curriculum, to manage student personal, academic and financial records, to print transcripts and reports...
- System Manager Module: used by the system administrator to schedule backups and database maintenance, define users, user groups and assign specific rights (for the registrar module), translate and configure the application.
- Student Access Module: used by students to view their schedule and access their academic and financial records online.
- Teacher Access Module: used by teachers to view their classes and record their final grades.
Notes
- Each module offers secure login over an encrypted connection with user ID and a password. The login process prevents potential hackers from multiplying login attempts or using the browser caching features (login information stored in the cache becomes invalid after a short delay).
- Student academic records are automatically related to the specific requirements of the programs of study the student is enrolled in. This feature enables the system to guide students in their online registration and to produce transcripts, reports and statistics which show the true achievements of a student in a specific program.
- The flexible grading system can be adapted to most situations and countries.
- The system automatically generates invoices based on the student enrollments.
- Student and class statistics (totals and averages) are automatically updated “on the fly” as data is added, deleted or modified.
- The system handles complex program curriculum definitions and program requirements customized to certain students.
- The application is multi-lingual. The user interface can be set to English or French and soon Spanish. Translation in other languages is easily done via the System Manager module.
- ESIS reports for Canadian Universities: the system creates the reports for the Enhanced Student Information System.
