College Office for Windows will operate in a restricted trial mode (35 students max and nagging message on all reports). When you purchase College Office for Windows you receive a license key which removes all restrictions and you do not need to reinstall College Office.

Licensed users of version 3 can use this setup file to upgrade to the latest version.

Setup Instructions for College Office for Windows

  1. Unzip the file (use WinZip from www.winzip.com if you do not have a zip utility on your computer)
  2. Execute the setup program (setup.exe) from the folder where the file was downloaded. The setup program gives the user the option to install the report writer, the database and the College Office 2.4 to 3.2 converter. Users who are trying College Office or users who have purchased a single user license (not network enabled) should install College Office with the database and the report writer and must accept the default location for the database without changing it. Users who have purchased a multi users license (network enabled) should install College Office with the database on the file server of their network and should install College Office without the database on the other computers of the network.  Do not install the College Office 2.4 to 3.2 converter unless you are upgrading from version 2.4.
  3. Start College Office (From the Windows Start menu select: Start -> Programs -> College Office -> College Office)
  4. When asked to login enter the user ID "XX" (letter X twice) with no password and click OK (you will not be asked to login the first time you run College Office)
  5. Start the help system (From the Windows start menu select: Start -> Programs -> College Office -> Help). Read the help topic entitled Installing College Office for further instructions on upgrading from version 2.x or configuring multi-users access on a network. The help system is the official documentation of College Office and should be read carefully.
  6. The report writer documentation can be accessed from the Windows Start menu (Start -> Programs -> College Office -> Report Writer Documentation
    You need the Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the report writer documentation. You can download the free Acrobat Reader from the Adobe web site.

Important!

  • If you are upgrading from version 2.x, DO NOT install College Office 3 in the same folder as College Office 2.x
